Luis E. Navia is Professor of Philosophy at the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury.

The first impressions Dr. Navia's book makes on the reader are the great lucidity of its arguments, and the living, human quality of its great protagonist, Socrates...the scholarship is of high quality: the field carefully researched, the ideas painstakingly footnoted,...Highly recommended to the general reader and to college and university libraries. -- Eugene Kelly, New York Institute of Technology CHOICE ...a thorough introductory survey...this sensible and judicious book will certainly be of use to many readers.
