Sir Lanval & the Fairy Princess

The original story was written by MARIE DE FRANCE, a pioneering Anglo-French woman poet who lived in England during the 12th century. With a command of French, Latin and Middle English, Marie’s stories of courtly romance always cast the women as strong central characters who make decisions, act and pursue their passions in ways that challenge traditional mores at the time.
