'I love seeing a new Christmas picture book, and just in time too. This is a heart--warming, down to earth story about a little shepherd boy who had to stop crafting toys in order to look after his sheep. However, he finds them just in time to give as a gift for the new born Son of God. The story is simply told, and the illustrations are beautiful.'-- Kindling'The character of the shepherd boy makes this simple re-telling of the nativity story easy for young children to relate to.'-- Armadillo'The lovely illustrations perfectly capture the beauty and simplicity of the story. The impressionistic angel and the heavenly host bring a warm glow to the pages when they appear. This is a nice addition to holiday books about the Nativity... This would be a fine choice for those looking for a warm and gentle story of the nativity.'-- Youth Services Book Review'Unreservedly recommended'-- Midwest Book Review
