The Holy Spirit, writing though Paul, encouraged independent study of the Bible. Paul commended the Bereans in Acts 17:11 because they compared biblical teachings with the scriptures themselves.

Many religions and denominations create caricatures of Christ that distort Jesus and try to convert him into someone they want him to be, instead of presenting him as the authentic, miraculous, Jesus Christ of history.
