Davide Trentacoste obtained a dual PhD in Modern History and Iranian Studies jointly from Teramo University (Italy) and New Sorbonne University (France) in 2021. His research focuses on interfaith diplomacy in the Early Modern period, particularly between the Small Italian States and Safavid Persia, as well as European knowledge of the “Orient” from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century. He has been a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Haifa Center for Mediterranean History and a Guest Researcher at Comenius University in Bratislava. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher (Assegnista di Ricerca) at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa.
