DrTony Insall worked for more than thirty years in theForeign and Commonwealth Office and served in Nigeria, Hong Kong, China andMalaysia before spending five years in Norway. He was also an associate editorof FCDO Historians and has published several books and articles on Norwegianhistory. He is the co-founder of the Anglo-Norwegian Resistance CommemorationProject, the purpose of which is to increase recognition of this significantaspect of our common history. He is also a visiting professor in the Departmentof War Studies at King’s College London and a fellow of the Royal HistoricalSociety. He lives near Guildford in Surrey.
