Gollancz and Somervell emphasize the need for curriculum development and innovative teaching methods that go beyond traditional schooling to prepare students for the challenges of the world. By addressing social issues within the context of education, the authors argue that schools should not only impart knowledge but also foster a sense of social responsibility in students. They critique conventional educational practices and propose a system where schools and society work hand in hand to shape well-rounded individuals.
