Hal K. Rothman is editor of the Environmental History Review and teaches history and public administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His book Devil’s Bargains, about tourism in the twentieth-century American West, received the 1999 Western Writers of America Spur Award for contemporary nonfiction.
