This small but perfectly-formed selection features verses including ‘Muc, Muc, Muc’, ‘Two Cats of Kilkenny’ and “Mary Mac, Mac, Mac, all dressed in black, black, black, silver buttons, buttons, buttons all down her back, back, back”. Sing or chant and clap along to Michael Finnegan , who grew whiskers on his chin-egin … the musicality of such rhythmic verse, whose repetition is one of the enduring joys of early childhood, its value on this occasion being increased by the fact that all royalties from the durable board book version are going to Barnardos
