Russia in the Pacific

Charles E. Ziegler has been on the faculty at the University of Louisville since 1980. He has had grants from IREX, a Fulbright Fellowship (to Korea), and Fellowships with the Council on Foreign Relations and the Hoover Institution. He was a visiting scholar at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London and served as Legislative Assistant for Defense and Foreign Policy in the U.S. Senate. Ziegler was Project Director for a State Department funded program on building civil society in Kazakhstan. He was Chair of the Political Science Department, and founder and Senior Scholar of the Center for Asian Democracy at the University of Louisville. He has served as Executive Director of the Louisville Committee on Foreign Relations since 1990 and is currently Faculty Director of the Grawemeyer Award for Ideas Improving World Order. Ziegler received his BA from Purdue University, and MA and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. He has published or edited six books and over 120 academicarticles and book chapters.
