Rhetoric and Ideology of Genre

This book aims to advance a radical reconception of genre and discourse, and to enhance understanding of reading, writing, speaking, and listening as socially situated and motivated activities. The various chapters offer critical methods and conceptual frameworks for understanding the pragmatic and social aspects of discourse embodied by generic structures and processes. Each chapter also challenges and advances our understanding of discursive genres, and how they act, both socially and on individuals.
