The publication of this wide-ranging collection is an exciting event in Bond studies and one of significance in the scholarly engagement with pop culture. The range of conceptual contexts and methodological approaches adds to the interest of the volume, revealing how religion can offer a variety of textual insights. This volume begins a system which deserves to be followed for other totemic figures such as Poirot and Superman.
