From the reviews: "The book presents general reliability, availability and safety analytical models of complex non-repairable and repairable multi-state technical systems related to their operation processes and applies them to real industrial systems and processes. ... The book contains complete solutions of the formulated problems in case of exponential multi-state reliability functions of their components. ... It can be recommended to researchers and industry practioners." (Laszlo Lakatos, Zentralblatt MATH, Vol. 1226, 2012) "The authors address the safety and risk functions, although their meaning is strictly related to reliability theory. Another distinguishing feature of this book is that the authors focus on systems with multiple reliability states and not only on binary partitioning ... . the work can be treated as a useful source of illustrating examples. ... aimed at a mathematical readership or specialists who are well acquainted with reliability theory and just need a refresher or a source of theorems and examples for lectures."
