Myfany Turpin is an Associate Professor in ethnomusicology and linguistics at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, The University of Sydney. Jim Wafer is a linguist-anthropologist with an honorary appointment in the Discipline of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Newcastle. He is the author or co-author of The taste of blood: spirit possession in Brazilian Candomblé, A handbook of Aboriginal languages of NSW and the ACT and a number of Aboriginal land claim reports.
