"…It is vital that education about medical radiation protection encompass the principles and practices of all members of the world community. Radiation Protection in Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology, a member of the CRC Series in Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering, represents an important contribution to this goal. Not only does this new text cover the radiation protection aspects of the major modalities employed in diagnostics radiology and radiation oncology, it does so from the perspective of radiation protection professionals representing the six inhabited continents. Edited by two accomplished medical physicists with international standing, the book consists of contributions from 34 professionals from the ranks of medical physics, health physics, and clinical radiology…Although intended to be a text for medical physics students, this book would be a useful reference for all types of radiation protection professionals at all career levels…While global harmonization of medical radiation protection philosophy and regulations may be a long way off, this excellent book brings us closer to that day."—Robert E. Reiman, Ph.D, in Health Physics, September 2016"The book presents a unique view on the subject. It is written by experts in the field—a collaboration between IOMP and IRPA. … The content and structure of the book are excellent. … The book will be a very useful reference for various specialists for many years ahead. … Throughout this book, the reader will find lots of data, tables, and diagrams. This is an excellent reference, which will be useful in all medical physics department."—Medical Physics International, Vol. 3, 2015"… an excellent book that contains an impressive compilation and related information in medical imaging and radiation protection. With the ever-growing need of society for medical services in diagnostic and therapeutic applications, the publication of this document will be very timely and useful to every region of the world, and specifically in underdeveloped areas where healthcare services are growing yet still very much in demand."—S.Y.
