Jacqueline MacDonald earned a PhD in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Toronto. With a strong background in molecular biology, she has worked with plants, animals, fungi, and bacteria, mostly with biotechnological applications. Her postdoctoral work involved plant-produced vaccine candidates for livestock with the goal of reducing the environmental and public health effects of antibiotics.
