Dr. Moses B. Khanyile has worked at strategic levels within both public and private sectors. He has received ministerial appointments to oversee national projects on defence initiatives and also participate boards of state-owned enterprises such as Armscor SOC. He provides teaching and learning services for post-graduate students (masters and doctoral levels) at Stellenbosch University, Da Vinci Business School, and University of South Africa. He is one of the few chartered directors in South Africa, which is the ultimate qualification on corporate governance as accredited by the Institute of Directors of South Africa (IoDSA). Dr Khanyile holds a PhD (International Politics), Master of Business Leadership, Master of Arts (Politics), Bachelor of Laws and Honours Bachelor of Military Science. He has published and presented numerous academic papers on international security, defence industry and defence policy. He is currently serving as the Director: Centre for Military Studies (CEMIS), and Director: Defence Artificial Intelligence Research Unit (DAIRU) at the Faculty of Military Science, Stellenbosch University. He is the Editor for the Defence Innovation and Management in Africa journal, and sits in the editorial boards of African Journal for Employee Relations (University of South Africa, South Africa) and Journal of Central and Eastern European African Studies (Óbuda University, Hungary).
