This is an excellent book, very detailed but written in a good readable style. It throws much light on church history over this period, in particular the problems caused by radical reforms of religious practice imposed by the Commonwealth parliament during the abolition of the episcopacy, and it provides ample material for readers to come to their own conclusions.
