The book is well laid out, and includes a reading list and a set of problems at the end of each chapter, which is excellent practice. An interesting and valuable book. It will be an extremely useful aid to teachers of atmospheric physics and chemistry, as well as graduates and advanced undergraduate students. It will almost certainly become an essential part of the library of any teacher or researcher in the atmospheric sciences. Both readable and clear, and with sufficient mathematical rigour, it gives the broad view, and proceeds to atmospheric absorption, scattering, radiative transfer, the greenhouse effect and ozone.
