Eduardo Vivaldo-Lima is a Professor at the Facultad de Química, Departamento de Ingeniería Química, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, México. He is a member of the Mexican National Researchers System and external academic member of the Institute for Polymer Research of the University of Waterloo, Canada. He has worked in polymer science and engineering, and bioengineering, for over 35 years. He has published 115 papers, 8 chapters and 3 books. He is coinventor of 6 patents. He is member of the editorial board of 2 journals and has supervised 8 PhD and 17 master’s students. Some of his awards include: the “2010 Heberto Castillo Award in innovation; UNAM’s 2013 “National University Award in teaching; and the 2014 IMIQ Award for excellence in teaching. Alexander Penlidis is a Professor and Former Director at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Institute for Polymer Research (IPR), University of Waterloo, Canada. He has well over 40 years of experience in Polymer Engineering and Mathematical Modelling. He received the 1993 Albright and Wilson Americas Award of the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering for distinguished contributions before the age of 40. He is a Fellow of the Chemical Institute of Canada and of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. He held a Canada Research Chair, CRC Tier 1, for two terms (2002-2016). He has published about 400 refereed publications and has completed the supervision of 33 PhD and 53 MASc students. He was previously the Director of the Institute for Polymer Research (1994-2010) at the University of Waterloo, Canada, and the founding co-editor of the Polymer Reaction Engineering Journal (1991-2003).
