Ishtiaq Ahmed is Associate Professor of Political Science and International Academic Coordinator at the University of Stockholm. Professor Ahmed holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Stockholm. He is chief editor of the electronic peer-reviewed journal, Peace and Democracy in South Asia.

The Politics of Group Rights should become one of the most authoritative books on the general theory of group rights. Its theoretical reflections, moreover, lead to detailed and clear analyses of the situation prevailing in Sweden, Turkey, the Balkans, Algeria, Nigeria, Pakistan, and India.
