She is the recipient of the Society of Architectural Historians 2013 Award for Excellence in Architectural Media for a lifetime of documentary and interpretive filmmaking, including her PBS film, Make No Little Plans: Daniel Burnham and the American City. She lives in Wilmette, Illinois. John F. DeSalvo, illustrator of the Pocket Guides, is a registered architect. He previously worked in Berlin with Foster & Partners and Murphy/Jahn. Now based in Chicago, he is a practicing architect and teaches architectural design at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
