Zhuoyao Li is Associate Professor of Philosophy at St. John’s University. His areas of specialization include social and political philosophy, ethics, and comparative political theory. His current research focuses on the political nature of the state, the relationship between state actions and the values of citizens in both Western and Eastern contexts, and the intersection between ethics, politics, and artificial intelligence. Zhuoyao Li’s articles appear in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including the Review of Politics, Philosophy East & West, Ethics & Global Politics. His 2020 book, Political Liberalism, Confucianism, and the Future of Democracy in East Asia, was published by Springer. He also serves as the managing editor of Philosophy & Social Criticism.
