Nowell’s life-long love of the psalms and her scholarly work in interpreting and translating them provides grounding for understanding the Psalter’s character, structure, history, theology, and function. Readers become more aware of the bonds that connect all—humans and all nature—in community. This book will be a fine companion for any who wish to learn the psalms.Shawn Carruth, OSB, Concordia College
