Gordon M. Marshall (1942-2013) was Assistant Librarian and later trustee of the Library Company.James N. Green is Librarian Emeritus of the Library Company of Philadelphia, where he has worked since 1983. He has advanced degrees in American literature from Yale and rare books librarianship from Columbia. He was a contributor to and editorial board member of the multi-volume collaborative History of the Book in America, published by the American Antiquarian Society (2000-2010), and coauthor of Benjamin Franklin, Writer and Printer. He teaches courses on the history of the book in America at the University of Virginia's Rare Book School and the University of Pennsylvania.John C. Van Horne is Director Emeritus of the Library Company. He is an elected member of the American Philosophical Society and the American Antiquarian Society and the editor of many volumes of The Papers of Benjamin Henry Latrobe. Van Horne is the coeditor of The Abolitionist Sisterhood: Women's Political Culture in Antebellum America, and the editor of Religious Philanthropy and Colonial Slavery: The American Correspondence of the Associates of Dr. Bray, 1717-1777 and Traveling the Pennsylvania Railroad: The Photographs of William H. Rau.
