D.Z. PHILLIPS is Rush Rhees Research Professor at the University of Wales, Swansea, and Danforth Professor of the Philosophy of Religion at the Claremont Graduate School, California. He is the author of many books including Kant and Kierkegaard on Religion, The Concept of Prayer, Death and Immortality, Belief, Faith after Foundationalism, Interventions in Ethics and Introducing Philosophy. He is editor of Swansea Studies in Philosophy, co-editor of Claremont Studies in the Philosophy of Religion and editor of the journal Philosophical Investigations. TIMOTHY TESSIN was a Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Wales, Swansea, as is currently a Visiting Scholar at the Institut fur Musikwissenschaft in Weimar. He is co-editor of Philosophy and the Grammar of Religious Belief, and of the series Claremont Studies in the Philosophy of Religion. He as associate editor of the journal Philosophical Investigations in which he has also published articles.
