Palgrave Encyclopedia of the Health Humanities provides a critical resource for understanding and debating the multi-, inter, and transdisciplinary research and practices of the health humanities. Paul Crawford is Professor of Health Humanities at the School of Health Sciences, Director of the Centre for Social Futures at the Institute of Mental Health, and Co-Director of Nottingham Health Humanities Research Priority Area, University of Nottingham, UK. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA, Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (FAcSS) and Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH). In 2008 he was awarded a Lord Dearing Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. He is the co-author of Health Humanities (Palgrave, 2015) as well as the author of numerous books and articles. Paul Kadetz is Oxnam Chair of Science and Society, Director of the Medical Humanities, Drew University, USA and Associate, China Centre for Health and Humanity, UCL, UK. In addition to serving as the Director of the Medical Humanities programs at Drew, Paul is in the Department of Anthropology. He is also a senior research fellow at the University of Liverpool in China, an Associate and Lecturer of the China Centre for Health and Humanity at University College London, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (UK). His areas of research and writing bridge the fields of International Health and Development, Critical Medical Anthropology and Global Health.
