Baby's down-and could be out for good-when she's pitted against a dope kingpin bent on turning her lakeside paradise into a living hell for fans of Alissa Nutting and Amy Engel.

Baby's heart is in the right place, but she's got problems-namely, a fierce taste for booze. She's living and working at Oakwood Hills, a crumbling lakeside resort, with her friends, Crystal Nugget and DJ Overalls. Her step-mom, Hannah, has recently died of a stroke. And now, the return of her summer fling, Peter Pomeroy-one of the twin heirs to a pharmaceutical fortune-is about to throw her already unstable life into full-blown chaos.

First, local drug dealer Bad Mike returns from prison. Then, the owner of Oakwood Hills announces plans to sell the resort to Amelia, Peter's twin sister. Baby and her friends are set on thwarting the sale, and they'll be able to do it if they can recover a sunken treasure rumored to be sitting at the bottom of the lake. But Big Mike also has his eyes on the treasure.

Desperate for money in the meantime, Baby takes a catering job at the Pomeroys' lakeside cottage, and when the sheriff recruits her to help gather evidence that could send Big Mike back to prison, she starts to uncover some ugly truths.

Now Baby knows the truth-and if her buddies can't rescue her, she could end up taking a final, inglorious plunge into the lake's murky depths.
