"This book provides a concise treatment of the theory, principle and techniques of microring resonator devices, and their applications in optical filters, sensors, laser, nonlinear optics, optomechanics and quantum optics. Including a detailed treatment of the theory and techniques for modeling and design of microring devices, the work is a handy and practical guide for graduate students and researchers who wish to familiarize themselves with the technology and acquire sufficient knowledge to enable the design and development of microring devices for their own applications." – Optics & Photonics News (Jul 2017)"This book gives a good snapshot on how to get started in microring resonators and their practical implications. Surely, an excellent choice for gaining an insight into the vast potential of MRRs." – Jalil Ali, Professor, Laser Center ISI-SIR, University of Malaysia"a thorough treatment of microring technology from basics to various applications, facilitated by the mathematical details, making the book appeal to a wide range of audiences from graduate students to experienced researchers who are interested in learning about and using microrings" – L. Jay Guo, Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, The University of Michigan"a great reference for both researchers and students interested in using microring resonators" – Dr. Sai Tak Chu, City University of Hong Kong"The text provides a detailed, cognizant account of numerous crucial aspects of optical microring resonators…. Linear as well as nonlinear effects, active as well as passive structures are all addressed in this book." – Amr S. Helmy, Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Toronto"This book gathers all the analytical tools for designing optical microring resonators. The exposition is clear, succinct, and self-contained. The book covers topics broader than microring resonators, like waveguides, filter design, nonlinear optics, and optical switches. It will meet the needs of those who want a quick introduction to any of these topics." – Ping-Tong Ho, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Maryland
