Evangelos Grigoroudis is an AssociateProfessor of Management of Quality Processes at the School of ProductionEngineering and Management, Technical University of Crete, Greece. He pursuedhis postgraduate studies at the Technical University of Crete, where hereceived his Ph.D. degree in 1999. He has received distinctions from theHellenic Operational Research Society, the Academy of Business andAdministrative Sciences, the World Automation Congress, the Foundation of Ioannisand Vasileia Karayianni, the Technical University of Crete, and the StateScholarships Foundation of Greece. He has served as a reviewer for more than 50scientific journals, and he is an associate editor of Operational Research: AnInternational Journal; the International Journal of Decision Support Systems; Journalof Knowledge Economy; International Journal of Social Ecology and SustainableDevelopment; Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship; and Journal ofTechnology, Innovation and Education. Further, he is a member of the EditorialBoard of the following journals: the International Journal of Information andDecision Sciences; International Journal of Information Systems in the ServiceSector; and the International Journal of Multicriteria Decision Making. He is theauthor/editor of 10 books on the measurement of service quality; the businessstrategy and management, and the multicriteria decision aid approaches; as wellas a significant number of research reports and papers in scientific journalsand conference proceedings. Michael Doumpos is an Associate Professor of Operations Research at theSchool of Production Engineering and Management, Technical University of Crete,Greece. His research interests include multicriteria decision making, decisionsupport systems, business intelligence, and financial risk management. He haspublished over 60 research papers in premier journals in operations research,management science, and finance. He has also authored and editedseveral bookson intelligent decision support, multicriteria analysis, and financial decisionmaking, and he has guest-edited more than 10 special issues in these areas forleading international journals. He has been involved in a number of researchprojects funded by public organizations and the private sector, regarding theimplementation of decision support systems and data analysis techniques inseveral areas such as finance, banking, and shipping.
