Old Babylonian Letters from Tell Asmar

An archaeological and philological analysis of the inscriptional material and letters found at Tell Asmar in modern-day Iraq, an ancient Sumerian, later Akkadian, city in central Mesopotamia. These finds appear out of a `dark age' of Mesopotamian history and reveal a linguistic continuity from the earliest stage of Old Babylonian to Old Akkadian.
