Pat Jalland, FASSA, FRHistS, is an Emeritus Professor of History at the Australian National University, Australia. Her ten books include Australian Ways of Death: A Social and Cultural History, 1840-1918 (Oxford University Press, 2002); and Changing Ways of Death in Twentieth-Century Australia: War, Medicine and the Funeral Business (UNSW Press, 2006).
