James D. Reid is Professor of Philosophy at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. He has taught at the University of Chicago, Colorado College, the College of William and Mary, and the United States Air Force Academy. He publishes widely on philosophical issues in Kant and his successors, American philosophy, and the philosophical dimensions of poetry, literature, and film. He is the recipient of two grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities. He is the author of Being Here Is Glorious: On Rilke, Poetry, and Philosophy and Heidegger's Moral Ontology, the translator of Novalis: Philosophical, Literary, and Poetic Writings, as well the series co-founder and chief editor of Bloomsbury Studies in Philosophy and Poetry.
