'I am delighted to recommend this book. I was grateful to encounter Sam Hole’s teaching on Holy Communion some years ago, and it is a pleasure to see that work deepened here. This volume reflects careful theological thought, pastoral experience, and a real love for the Church’s worship. It does more than explain the liturgy: it helps us to see how Holy Communion forms us - shaping our understanding, our prayer, and our life together as the Body of Christ - and invites us to recover the richness of the altar as a place of nourishment and encounter. Ordinands, clergy and thoughtful members of our congregations alike will find here a guide which not only informs, but encourages deeper, more attentive participation in the mystery we celebrate week by week.'
