"Teachers looking for inspiration on the use of computers in their language classrooms may well find this book surprisingly useful, particularly in the second section, where the uses of CALL are addressed. Communicative language teaching is well addressed throughout the articles...the ideas and perspectives discussed in each of the articles are definitely valid, interesting, thought-evoking and useful....it brings together many approaches currently used in language classrooms and gives good rationale and logistical advice for them."—British Journal of Educational Technology"New Perspectives on CALL for Second Language Classrooms is an exemplary presentation of traditional approaches to CALL in higher education....it is effective....Both editors and several of the contributors appear to be specialists in EFL."—Journal of Distance Education"...this practical handbook is a valuable resource to guide language teachers, teacher trainers, and students interested in incorporating technology into their language classes. It also allows readers to pick and choose the chapters that are most relevant to their needs."—Modern Language Journal"...clearly written and easily accessible to the average teacher....Each chapter offers a nice mix of theory, research, and practical ideas."—Christine F.
