President for Biomedical Alliance in Europe. Serves on the executive committee of the European Alzheimer’s Disease Consortium (EADC), on the Medical and Scientific Advisory Panel of Alzheimer’s Disease International, and on the Expert Advisory Panel of Alzheimer Europe.  Served onthe board of the previous European Federation of Neurological Societies (EFNS) and on the EFNS-ENS task force to create the European Academy of Neurology (EAN). Has received several international honors and awards, including the “WHO prize for research in health care for the elderly and in health promotion” in 2020.  Main research areas are early diagnosis, epidemiology, and interventions in neurodegenerative disorders.
