Rodrigo Gómez is Professor in the Department of Communication at Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana–Cuajimalpa (UAM-C), Mexico, and was a María Zambrano Distinguished Research Fellow at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain. His research focuses on cultural and audiovisual industries, global media systems, digital platforms, media policies, and media corporations from a critical political economy of communication perspective. He has published extensively on media concentration, and the restructuring of global audiovisual industries. He is co-editor of Global Media Giants (2017) and Political Economy of Media and Communication: Methodological Approaches (2024).Luis A. Albornoz is Professor in the Communication and Media Studies Department at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain. He is a founding member and former president of the Latin Union of Political Economy of Information, Communication and Culture (ULEPICC). His work examines cultural and audiovisual industries, communication policies, digital media, and cultural diversity in the context of globalization. He is editor of Power, Media, Culture: A Critical View from the Political Economy of Communication (2015), co-editor of Audiovisual Industries and Diversity: Economics and Policies in the Digital Era (2019), and co-author of Grupo Prisa (2022).
