More than 10 years of experience with animal experimentation. Roberto's research has been mainly focused on natural plant products against inflammatory bowel diseases and colorectal cancer, with special attention to the potential benefits of native Brazilian fruits. Acts mainly on the following themes: animal models, native Brazilian berries, bioactive compounds, inflammatory bowel diseases, and colorectal cancer. More than 10 years of experience with the manipulation of natural plant products and extracts. Acts mainly on the following themes: processes with pressurized fluids, extraction and encapsulation of bioactive compounds, use of agro-industrial residues, and preventive and complementary therapies for inflammatory bowel diseases. In 2017, she obtained a postdoctoral contract (Ministry of Science and Innovation, Spain) at the Universidad de Granada (UGR). Postdoctoral stay at the Gentofte Regional Hospital in Copenhagen (Denmark, 2019). Throughout her research career, she has participated in numerous national and international research projects, being investigator principal and coordinator of two of them. Awards: Best Thesis in the 2015 "Modesto Laza Palacios" from the Illustrious Association of Pharmacists of Malaga and Extraordinary Doctoral Award in health sciences area, granted by the Universidad de Granada (2018). Currently, she is an assistant professor at Universidad de Granada and her research has mainly focused on the study of the potential therapeutic effects of different compounds (probiotics, prebiotics, antibiotics, or plant extracts), as well as the search for new biomarkers and targets that can improve the diagnosis and prognosis of several inflammatory conditions, including inflammatory bowel diseases. Currently is an Associate Professor at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. Titular Member of the Brazilian Society of Coloproctology. Member of the Brazilian Federation of Gastroenterology, of the International Society of University Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and an honorary member of the Brazilian Association of Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease. Member of the Study Group on Inflammatory Bowel Disease in Brazil, European Crohn's and Colitis Organization, and Pan American Crohn's Colitis Organization. Since 2005, Raquel has been doing studies associated with inflammatory bowel diseases. Currently an Associate Professor at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. Titular Member of the Latin American Society of Coloproctology, Brazilian College of Surgeons, Brazilian Society of Coloproctology, Brazilian College of Digestive Surgery, and Brazilian Society for the Development of Research in Surgery. Member of the International Society of University Colorectal Surgeons and the Brazilian Society of Laparoscopic Surgery. Since 2006, Dr. Martinez has been doing experimental studies with inflammatory bowel diseases. Currently is a Full Professor at the Universidad de Granada (UGR), Spain. Member of the Research Group "Pharmacology of Natural Products" at UGR (CTS-164), which is involved in the evaluation of active natural compounds on intestinal inflammatory conditions and metabolic syndrome. Participation in more than 20 research projects with public funding and 25 projects with private funding. Julio's activity is reflected in more than 130 manuscripts in the field of Pharmacology, Gastroenterology, and Nutrition. Member of CIBER-EHD (ISCIII) and coordinator of the area focused on Precision Medicine in the Institute ibs.GRANADA. Currently is an Associate Professor at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. He received his Ph.D. stay at Leibniz Universitat Hannover, Germany, in 2004 and a Research stay at Lund University, Sweden, in 2009. Since 2010, Mario has been doing experimental studies with natural products in inflammatory bowel diseases and obesity.
