Davis loves the Psalms but, most of all, he loves the Psalmist’s God: so too will you. In this final instalment of his essential guide to the Psalms, trusted theologian Dale Ralph Davis leads readers through a careful study of Psalms 38–51 with clear application for daily life. Using his own translation, Davis sets out a verse–by–verse exposition and crystallises the Psalmist’s message with cross–references to situate the passages in broader biblical context. Recensioner i media

”Dale Ralph Davis belongs to the rarest tribe of commentators: clearly communicating biblical truth with simultaneous theological depth and engaging devotional impact. The genuine love for Yahweh which oozes from these pages—not overly demonstrative but irresistibly contagious—enables readers to share both that same love and the Exceeding Joy it produces.“Mike Biggs(Senior Pastor, Christ the King Presbyterian Church, Norman, Oklahoma)”All of God’s Word is food for our souls and Dr. Davis is not afraid to give it to us. In ‘My Exceeding Joy’, this beloved expositor continues to show us in the Psalms how the Word is made fresh through the work and personality of an unashamed and approved workman.“Brent Sadler(Army Chaplain, 7th Special Forces Group, Florida)”This expository pilgrimage through the Psalms continues to delight, instruct, refresh and nourish our hearts. Above all else, Dr Davis’s own delight in God, evident on every page, leads us to his altar and displays his love and glory in ways that make us stop and pray and praise. “David Gibson(Minister, Trinity Church, Aberdeen)
