"Different perspectives and approaches characterize the 11 papers in this collection, which investigate the organizational and institutional relationships that multinational enterprises (MNEs) have to manage in Asia. The editors have structured the material so that it moves from examination of micro-level relationships between MNEs and local organizations to meso- and macro-level relationships between MNEs and Asian institutions. Among the relationships discussed are inter-firm cooperation in German-Chinese joint ventures, the internationalization process of advertising agencies, inter-temporal relationships between foreign firms and local suppliers, MNEs and China’s intellectual property system, business and government policies in Southeast Asia, German MNEs and societal stakeholders, and MNEs and Japan’s labor market." --Reference & Research Book News
