«Although narrative techniques are now commonplace in the social sciences, they have been underutilized in the field of sports studies. In the tradition of C. Wright Mills, the authors explore the interplay among biography, history, and social structure, demonstrate the valuable insights that can be obtained by combining imagination and analysis, and focus on issues of power and inequality in sport.» (Jim McKay, The University of Queensland)«‘Moving Writing’ is a wonderful addition – nay, extension – to contemporary social science writing and research practices. This book will offer any scholar interested in transcending the boundaries of traditional social science writing invaluable assistance, guidance, and inspiration.» (Laurel Richardson, The Ohio State University)«‘Moving Writing’ is a revolutionary move. The dialogical quality of the narratives challenges traditional academic discourse and questions the methodology of social knowledge, the psychology of movement, and the aesthetics of expression. This collection is touching, visceral, and highly evocative.» (Henning Eichberg, Idrætsforsk, Research Institute of Sport, Body, and Culture, Danish Ministry of Culture)
