“This highly anticipated book builds on more than two decades of research in entomological field stations and archives from Tanzania to Brazil. In it, Kelly and Lezaun go beyond the stereotype of the ‘war on mosquitoes’ to reimagine medical entomology as a collaborative, world-making endeavor. Buzzing with cunning insights, Mosquite Work shows how the ethnography of health science—and science itself—might be done differently, and much better.”—Alex Nading, Professor of Anthropology, Cornell University “Mosquito Work tours a fascinating array of efforts by entomologists and disease ecologists to create devices, spaces, and forms of knowledge devised to obstruct mosquitoes’ remarkable penchant for foiling human ambitions. The book’s impressive transdisciplinary reach and penchant for building on scientists’ own narrative styles will attract scholars of pragmatism, global health, and the social and natural sciences.”—Charles L. Briggs, author of Incommunicable: Toward Communicative Justice in Health and Medicine
