Ferenc Csirkés, Ph.D. (2016, The University of Chicago) is an Assistant Professor in the History of the Pre-modern Islamicate World at the University of Birmingham. He works on the cultural and literary history of Iran, the Ottoman Empire, and Central Asia, as well as on Turkish/Turkic and Persian literature.Benedek Péri, Ph.D. (2000, Eötvös Loránd University) is an Associate Professor of Turkic Studies at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, where he is also Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies. He has published widely on the history of classical Turkic literary traditions, Turko-Persian literary contacts, Turkic language and literature in India, and Persian literature, recently producing a critical edition of The Persian Dīvān of Yavuz Sulṭān Selīm (2021).
