Mommy's Coming Home from Treatment

The perfect companion for Mommy's Gone to Treatment, this book addresses the difficulties children may have when a parent returns home from treatment as the whole family learns to adjust to a new way of life. Addiction is a devastating disease not only to the person who suffers from it, but also to family members. It's hard enough to explain to an adult how addiction can affect an individual—just imagine what a child must think when a parent suddenly goes from a loving and nurturing mother to a screaming stranger. This book is about Janey and how she learns to face some of the challenges a family must confront when a parent returns from treatment for addiction. With brightly colored illustrations, Mommy's Coming Home from Treatment addresses these issues children face in easy-to-understand language.
