He graduated from The University of Edinburgh in 1976 having studied Celtic Studies and History. His interests lie in superstition, miracles, science and religion. He is a highly acclaimed author and poet, having won two Gaelic Books Council prizes, the National Mòd Bardic Crown, the Wigtown Prize, among many more.
