Ross Jansen-van Vuuren is a Senior Research Associate at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology at the University of Ljubljana. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia) with prof. Paul L. Burn in 2012, before completing three postdoctoral research positions (Australia, Canada). In 2021, Ross was awarded a prestigious EUTOPIA Science and Innovation Fellowship developing greener and more sustainable approaches for deuterium incorporation, and in 2023, he received funding from the IIS-ED and the Slovenian Innovation and Research Agency (ARIS) to further support this research, which involves exploring how to use click chemistry to attach (bio)catalysts to surfaces or particles for use in continuous flow chemistry systems.Janez Košmrlj is a professor of Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana. He received his PhD from the University of Ljubljana under Emeritus Professor Slovenko Polanc. His research focuses on developing methods for organic synthesis and investigating reaction mechanisms. Professor Košmrlj has received the Zois Certificate of Recognition, the highest national recognition conferred to researchers in the Republic of Slovenia, and is a member of the European Academy of Science and Art.
