Mr. Shipp served in the CIA Counter Terrorism Center (CTC) as a special operations officer collecting human intelligence (HUMINT) against terrorist organizations, training allied presidential and prime minister protective details and allied police anti-terrorism units in counter terrorism tactics around the world. He received a CTC exceptional performance award and a mission medallion for intelligence collection and training foreign counter terrorism units. He also functioned as Assistant Team Leader for a CIA anti-terrorism assault team, sent to the foreign field to counter a dangerous terrorist organization. He received a meritorious unit citation for his work.Mr. Shipp was appointed Senior Program Manager for the Department of State, Diplomatic Security, Anti-terrorism Assistance allied police training program, providing training and support to allied police units around the world. As part of this assignment, he served as the program manager for the high-risk protective detail of Afghanistan President Muhammad Karzai. Kevin is the recipient of two CIA Meritorious Unit Citations, three Exceptional Performance Awards, an award for operational HUMINT collection and a Medallion for high-risk overseas operations. He holds a BS in biology, a master’s in forensic psychophysiology, and earned several CIA internal counter terrorism training certificates. As a former high performing operations officer in the CIA/CTC, Mr. Shipp is uniquely qualified to write this book.
