Sarita Srivastava is Director and Founder of an NGO SUVERNADA FOUNDATION, Rudrapur,Uttarakhand, India. She is retired Professor and Head of the Department of Foods and Nutrition at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, India. Dr. Sarita did M.Sc. in Foods and Nutrition and Ph D in Biochemistry from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, India and Post Doctorate from Technical University, Braunschweig, Germany (1988-89). She was recipient of FAO fellowship and worked under UNDP project at Michigan State University, USA in 1993.She had been subject editor of Pantnagar Journal of Research. She has nearly 40 years of teaching experience.She has worked extensively on nutritional quality of millets and product development for diversified uses including food products for diabetics and celiac disease patients. In this area she has guided 30 M.Sc. and 16 Ph.D. students. She is editor of a book ‘Small Millet Grains-The Superfoods in Human Diet’ published by Springer Nature. She authored a book ‘Global Health Challenges: Nutrition and Management’ published by Taylor and Francis. Recently she authored a book ‘Food Science and Nutrition - comprehensive guide’. Ninety seven research papers and 42 popular articles are to her credit. Patents on millet food products have also been filed by her . Professor Sarita received several awards for excellence and appreciation of professional work. She received Best Teacher Award from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, 2002. She served as expert in various national forums and international conferences.Anju Bisht is Professor and Head of the Department of Home Science at M.B. Government PG College, Haldwani, Uttarakhand, India, under the Department of Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand. She holds a PhD in Human Nutrition and postgraduate degree in Foods and Nutrition from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand.With over two decades of teaching and research experience, her areas of research interest include community nutrition, development of millet-based functional and weaning foods, and nutrition management of lifestyle-related disorders. She has guided PhD and Postgraduate students and has published several research papers and book chapters with national and international publishers. Dr. Bisht has also contributed in authoring two books in the field of nutrition and health. She has served as a subject expert and resource person at various academic and professional forums and is a reviewer for reputed academic journals. She is a member of professional bodies including Nutrition Society of India and Home Science Association of India.
