Microbial fuel cells are bio-electrochemical fuel cell systems that generate electric current using bacteria as the catalyst to oxidise organic and inorganic matter. Due to the increasing concern of climate change, they are an interesting alternative renewable energy source that are seeing a lot of focus.The aims and objectives of this book are to bring people’s attention to the existence of MFC technology, to remind them about how it works and what this technology has to offer for the future.
