Professor Chi-Min Shu is a Distinguished Chair Professor at the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology. His research primarily focuses on thermokinetic analysis, runaway reactions, fire/explosion prevention, risk assessment, and process safety-related issues. Prof. Shu has served as an editor for Process Safety and Environmental Protection and has been an editorial board member for several prestigious journals, including Process Safety Progress (PSP), Journal of Safety Research (JSR, SSCI), Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (JTAC, SCI), Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries (JLPI, SCI), and Processes. His accolades include the Trevor Kletz Merit Award from the Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center (MKOPSC), Texas, USA (2021), Distinguished Engineering Professor Award (Chemical Engineering) by the Chinese Institute of Engineers, Taiwan, and the ITACC V4 Scientific Excellence Award at the 3rd JTACC and 9th V4 Thermoanalytical Conference in Hungary (2023).Ming Yang is an Assistant Professor in the section of Safety and Security Science at Delft University of Technology. His scientific work evolves around reliability, risk, and resilience modelling to support safety and security-related decision-making problems in the process industries and offshore operations. He holds a B.Eng in Chemical and Material Engineering and minor in Management Science, a MSc. in Environmental System Engineering, and a PhD in Oil and Gas Engineering. He is Associate Editor of ACS Journal of Chemical Health and Safety, Subject Editor of Process Safety and Environmental Protection, Safety in Extreme Environments, Editorial Board Member of Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, and Hygiene and Environmental Health Advances. Hao Sun is an Associate Professor in the school of Civil Engineering & Architecture at Anhui University of Technology. He obtained his Ph.D. from China University of Petroleum (East China) and has visited the section of Safety and Security Science at Delft University of Technology (TUD). He is mainly engaged in industrial system resilience assessment and optimization, complex process system reliability, fire and explosion accident intelligent prevention and control research, so as to prevent petrochemical production accidents and provide effective decision-making for petrochemical production process. His relevant researches provide new ideas and contributions to the development of risk assessment and resilience assessment and optimization methodologies. Meng Qi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at China University of Petroleum (East China). He obtained his Ph.D. from Yonsei University and has visited the MKO Process Safety Center at Texas A&M University. With a strong expertise in chemical process systems engineering and process safety engineering, he specializes in the design, simulation, safety analysis, and optimization of chemical processes. He has contributed significantly to the development of systematic methodologies that incorporate modeling and simulation tools to design safer and more sustainable chemical processes. He has applied these methodologies to the production of renewable-based chemicals and energy storage systems. Zhirong Wang is the Dean of the College of Emergency Management at Nanjing Tech University, and the Director of the Key Laboratory of New Energy Storage Battery Safety and Emergency Technology in the petroleum and chemical industry. He has won the China Youth Science and Technology Award and the honor of leading talents in science and technology innovation under the National Ten Thousand Talents Plan. Additionally, he is honored as a Distinguished Professor of Jiangsu Province, receiving special funding for his contributions. He has been working at Nanjing Tech University since 2005. From 2013 to 2014, he was a visiting professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland, USA. His research interests include fire and explosion prevention and control, hazardous chemical safety, lithium-ion battery safety, hydrogen safety, etc. He has directed over 20 research projects, including one key project and one sub-project under the National Key R&D Program, five projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, and provincial and ministerial research projects. He has published over 200 SCI papers as the first author or corresponding author in renowned domestic and international journals, affirming his leadership in emergency management research. He has been authorized 5 international patents, and more than 40 Chinese invention patents. His extensive work has earned him prestigious awards such as the National Technological Progress Second Prize, the first prize of Invention and Innovation of China Association of Invention(gold medal), and the first prize of Science and Technology Progress of China, Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
